The entry requirements to start the training
Before the commencement of the training to obtain the class qualification MEP(L) the applicant must hold a valid qualification license PPL(A) issued in accordance with ICAO Annex 1 and must have minimum 70 flight hours as a leading pilot on single engine airplanes.
The training process
The applicant for class qualification MEP(L) must undertake the theoretical study and prove the level of his/her knowledge required for safety operation of the specified airplane as per the JAR – FCL 1.261 a). The volume of the theoretical preparation for operation of multi engine airplane is appointed to minimum 7 hours.
The practical training comprises of minimum 2 hours and 30 minutes of flight with instructor under the conditions of normal operation and minimum 3 hours and 30 minutes with instructor under the limited conditions, e.g. under the conditions of simulated engine failure and with the training of the technique during the asymmetric flight.
During the training special attention is paid to the following:
- introduction to the technical and flight manual of the concerned type
- action during the normal and emergency operation
- on-board training
The volume of the training corresponds to the complexness of the airplane and assures that the associate/graduate is able to perform all the actions and use the equipment and systems of the airplane in accordance to the flight manual.
